Abstract

Background Metachromatic leukodystrophy (MLD) is an autosomal recessive genetic disorder caused by arylsulfatase A (ARSA) deficiency. Patients with MLD exhibit a high prevalence of gallbladder polyps and intestinal metaplasia.
